On rainy days, slippery road surfaces often cause motorcycles to skid and fall.  Anti-skid road markings were developed to address this issue.  The key characteristic of these markings is that after being driven over by vehicles, the embedded rough material gradually surfaces, thus maintaining its anti-skid effect. Ordinary road markings, in contrast, have a smooth surface and offer no anti-skid protection.

What is BPN

Anti-skid BPN (British Pendulum Number) is a measure used to assess the slip resistance of a surface, particularly for flooring and pavement materials. It is determined using the British Pendulum Tester, a device that simulates the slip of a pedestrian heel or vehicle tires on a surface.
